“Becoming a mother forced me to have hope.”

At MamaStrong, we believe every mom deserves a community and her village to support her. We value growing a faithful, trustworthy community of moms, mentors and doulas to journey together. No one should mother alone!

Care for the vulnerable is written all over the Bible. Practical care for a mother in times of need expresses the mercy of God and the love of Jesus. We desire to show real acts of caring for neighborhood moms through sharing meals, meeting needs, helping with childcare, and connecting moms to community resources.

In the tradition of Mary McCleod Bethune, we believe in helping women: “head, hands and heart.” Mentorship begins in seeing our mutual need for Jesus, but it doesn’t end there! True mentorship in a mom’s life reaches areas of parenting, personal care, education, mental and emotional health.

We believe birth is sacred and should be protected as such. Too many black mothers have experienced trauma and mistreatment while giving birth. MamaStrong Doulas support and empower moms for advocacy in the journey of pregnancy and birth.
MamaStrong monthly moms’ circle is every 2nd Friday of the month from 6-8:30 pm at Church of the Transfiguration.
Join us for dinner and a laid-back conversation on a different topic each month. Transportation and childcare are available!
Check back soon for more information on the daytime moms’ circle launching in May!
