Winter Workday is a workforce development program for teenagers in Buckeye-Woodhills which doubles as a free raking and snow shoveling service for seniors in our service area.
Each year we recruit 10-12 students to participate in the program.
Students must:
Be a resident of the Buckeye-Woodhill neighborhood.
Be at least 14 years old.
Be willing to attend the monthly leadership training huddles from November to March.
Youth participants will attend "Squad Huddle Saturdays" for leadership training and job development sessions each Second Saturday of the month. Squad Huddle Saturday is a place for participants and volunteers to gather, eat, and grow together!
Each student is paired with an adult volunteer mentor. Our mentors are eager to support the studentβs goals whether it is personal development, emotional maturity, or financial goals. The mentor will work with your students to craft their goals and to track them until the completion of the program!
